Agenda Item Summary: The Facilities and Operations Department (through the Offices of Capital Programs, Planning and Design and Educational Facilities) is in the process of completing all necessary action steps to begin our 2021 Comprehensive Facilities Condition Assessments (FCA’s). Once the solicitation process is complete and a vendor selected (estimated to be completed by end of March 2021), the formal site assessment schedule will be developed and shared with stakeholders.
Background: In 2019, the Facilities and Operations Department completed Targeted Facilities Assessments (TFA’s) at six locations. To continue our assessment efforts, we are moving forward with comprehensive assessments at all ACPS facilities. This effort will allow us to update and maintain physical asset life-cycle information, as well as establish a formal recurring process for assessments of our facilities. In turn, this data will further inform our Capital Improvement Plan and recommendations for new builds, modernizations and/or renovations of our facilities.
Recommendation: The Superintendent recommends that the School Board review the board brief on Facilities Condition Assessments.
