Agenda Item Summary:
|
The Board Work Session will be utilized to review and identify current inequities within Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) from summary infographics comprised of data sources contained within the ACPS 2020 Data Workbook previously supplied to the Board. Along with identification of inequities, a dialogue will begin regarding the path forward in terms of key levers of change for the division and the Board’s critical role in this work.

Background:

On November 22, the Board was provided an updated Strategic Planning Committee Workbook for 2018-19 for review in advance of the December 17 work session. The workbook format will be used moving forward to provide updated data around various indicators aligned with the next strategic plan and key outcome indicators within the division.

Recommendation:
|
The Superintendent recommends the School Board review the attached material to inform Board Members in advance of the December 17 Board Work Session focused on exploring inequitable data outcomes and the path forward.
