Agenda Item Summary: On Thursday, May 4, 2017, City Council established the Ad Hoc Joint City-Schools Facilities Investment Task Force (Task Force) by adopting Resolution 2775. The Task Force is a nine-member community group charged with overseeing the “development of a Joint City-Schools Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and provide recommendations related to further capital project implementation.”

The Task Force held introductory meetings on June 27, 2017, and July 13, 2017, and began bi-weekly Task Force and subcommittee meetings in September 2017. The Task Force’s first major deliverable is a recommendation for prioritization of all projects within their purview into a nine-year City-Schools CIP. On November 2, 2017, the Task Force finalized CIP recommendations and they are included in the attachment. The Task Force’s second major deliverable will include policy recommendations related to CIP development and process and will be completed in December 2017.
