On May 13, 2020, Alexandria City Public Schools received a financial donation of $9,000.00 from the George Washington Middle School PTA for landscaping and restoration of the outdoor learning space at George Washington Middle School. In accordance with ACPS Policy KH and Regulation KH-R, any donation over $2,500 requires school board approval. The donation must meet the established standards of acceptance requirements as listed in the attached memo.

Background:

On December 6, 2019, a community member of Alexandria City Public Schools submitted a Community Funded Facilities Request Form for George Washington Middle School regarding the restoration of the outdoor learning space. To help support that Community Funded Facilities Request, the GWMS PTA donated $9000.00. The ACPS Operations Department will work through the next steps needed to restore the outdoor learning space.

The Superintendent recommends that the School Board review the donation from the George Washington Middle School PTA.
