Through the work of the Strategic Planning Committee over the past year, a five-year strategic plan has been drafted to serve as the roadmap for ACPS through 2025. The draft plan will be presented to the School Board across two sessions. This first presentation will highlight the key principles in the development of the plan, the work of the Strategic Planning Committee, and the plan’s framework as well as the division’s vision, mission, and core values. The second presentation will focus on the specific goals within the plan, associated measures designed to determine the extent to which goals are being implemented, and strategies and highlighted actions, which specify key actions to help achieve each goal.

Background:
|
The Strategic Planning Committee, over the course of the past year, has drafted a five-year strategic plan to serve as the roadmap for ACPS through 2025. The plan is based on the principles of: being data-informed, incorporating internal and external stakeholder voice, focusing on equity, ensuring alignment within the organization as well as with city organizations, and prioritization. A diverse group of staff representing all schools, School Board members, community partners, parents, and students served as the Strategic Planning Committee. The School Board set the vision, mission, and core values, which served as an important foundational element for the Strategic Planning Committee’s work. Work began with an extensive analysis of existing data and a needs assessment conducted by FourPoint Education Partners, which informed goal areas. Then, within each goal, the Strategic Planning Committee developed measures, strategies, and highlighted actions.

The Superintendent recommends the School Board review the attached ACPS 2025 Draft Strategic Plan for information and feedback.
