Agenda Item Summary:
Background: The Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee (CTEAC) is presenting the following items for consideration for its 2018-2019 scope of work.

1. Increase CTEAC membership to include representatives from additional program areas, specifically Automotive Technology and Hospitality.

2. Explore scholarship opportunities for CTE students to use for programs like NOVA Systemic Solutions’ STEMinars and summer STEM camps.

3. Continue to review and monitor CTE course offerings, and provide direction and advice for expanding, changing, and eliminating CTE courses.

4. Review CTE Annual Performance Report, Industry Certification test results, and student enrollment data to evaluate the effectiveness of CTE programs.

5. Continue increasing awareness of CTE programs including internship needs by enhancing outreach and program publicity to stakeholders.

6. Approve a new Local Perkins plan for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Recommendation: The Superintendent recommends that the School Board accept the CTE Advisory Committee Scope of Work.
