Agenda Item Summary:
On October 4th, 2020, Alexandria City Public Schools received notification of a donation of $8,500 from Kingdom Fellowship, Ebenezer Baptist Church,and Keeping it Moving Ministries to support ACPS students and families in need. The donation will be in the form of gift cards and provided to families through a collaborative plan of identification and distribution with the ACPS Director of School Social Work. In accordance with ACPS Policy KH and Regulation KH-R, any donation over $2,500 requires school board approval. The donation must meet the established standards of acceptance requirements.  
Background:
On October 4,2020 Alexandria City Public Schools received notification of a financial donation of $8500from Dr. Shakina D. Rawlings, Pastor, on behalf of Kingdom Fellowship, Ebenezer Baptist Church, and Keeping it Moving Ministries, to provide gift cards to identified families in need of support. This donation will provide support to ACPS families who are experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  
Recommendation
The Superintendent recommends that the School Board accept the donation to ACPS in the amount of $8,500.
