On May 13, 2020, Alexandria City Public Schools received a financial donation of $9,000.00 from the George Washington Middle School PTA for landscaping and restoration of the outdoor learning space at George Washington Middle School. In accordance with ACPS Policy KH and Regulation KH-R, any donation over $2,500 requires school board approval. The donation must meet the established standards of acceptance requirements as listed in the attached memo. |

On December 6, 2019, a community member of Alexandria City Public Schools submitted a Community Funded Facilities Request Form for George Washington Middle School regarding the restoration of the outdoor learning space. To help support that Community Funded Facilities Request, the GWMS PTA donated $9000.00. The ACPS Operations Department will work through the next steps needed to restore the outdoor learning space. |
