Agenda Item Summary: The City Council and School Board will discuss the FY2021-2030 CIP Budget during their joint work session on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. The ACPS School Board Chair will present the ACPS presentation.
Background: One of the Ad-Hoc Joint City-Schools Facilities Investment Task Force’s recommendations indicated that the City should de-couple operating and capital improvement program (CIP) budgets to allow for more focus to each budget. Staff determined that completely de-coupling would not be feasible; however, City Council has adjusted its work session discussions to discuss CIP in the fall and the operating budget in the spring. This work session is dedicated to ACPS’s CIP.
Recommendation: The Superintendent recommends School Board Members review the attached Joint City Council and School Board Budget Work Session presentations.
