Agenda Item Summary: During a Council budget work session on April 19, 2017, the City Manager shared a draft proposal to establish an Ad Hoc Joint City-Schools Facility Investment Task Force.
Background: In March 2017, the Alexandria City Council and School Board held a joint work session related to the school division’s ten-year Capital Improvement Plan. At that time, there was a discussion about pursuing opportunities for better collaboration and planning of future projects given fiscal constraints and importance of good community engagement. During a Council budget work session on April 19, 2017, the City Manager shared a draft proposal to establish an Ad Hoc Joint City-Schools Facility Investment Task Force.
Recommendation: The Superintendent recommends that the School Board review the proposal for feedback including suggested revisions to the City Manager and Council, if needed.
