Agenda Item Summary: There are no major updates at this time. On Thursday, October 17, staff will hold a community meeting to provide a project update and next steps in the Media Center at the Minnie Howard campus from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

The School Board will also provide feedback on educational programming during an October 24, 2019 work session. The Educational Design Team will consider this feedback as educational programming models are further developed to be consistent with the School Board’s decision to expand the connected network model to the Minnie Howard campus.
Background: The High School Project began in the summer of 2018 and has progressed steadily throughout the past year. Following much deliberation through several community engagement sessions and School Board discussions, on September 26, 2019, the School Board voted in favor of a Connected High School Network strategy to address Alexandria’s future high school capacity needs that included construction of a high school building (and associated site amenities) on the Minnie Howard campus for 1,600 students.
Recommendation: The Superintendent recommends the School Board continue to stay informed as the High School Project work progresses.
