At the conclusion of school year (SY) 2013-2014, the Alexandria City School Board approved the organization of a committee tasked to establish an Athletic Hall of Fame (AHOF) for the purpose of recognizing outstanding alumni athletes from current and former ACPS high schools. The committee developed the nomination and selection criteria to recognize athletes and held its first induction ceremony in December 2014. Since that time, the Athletic Hall of Fame Advisory Committee has held six annual ceremonies, inducting 61 athletes, teams, coaches and honorees as of December 2019. The Athletic Hall of Fame plaques are displayed at T.C. Williams High School in the hallway outside the Gerry Bertier Gymnasium. A complete list

Background:
|
On October 3, 2019 the school division inducted eight athletes, one coach and one team approved at the June 6, 2019 School Board Meeting into the ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame for 2019. A celebration dinner was held in the T.C. Williams Gym followed by the induction ceremony in the Athletic Hall of Fame hallway. The event was significantly expanded in size from previous years and was the largest induction event to date with more than 250 guests in attendance.

The Superintendent recommends that the School Board accept the 2019-2020 Athletic Hall of Fame End of Year Report.
